I Will Remember You
A physical and poetic performance about death, detachment, and memory — told from the perspective of the one who leaves and the one who remains.
On an almost empty stage, two figures move through an intimate ritual of farewell. A body is carried, lifted, released, dressed, and mourned. The performance unfolds through physical images evoking funeral rites, acts of care, and gradual separation.
A live soundscape is created directly on stage using bells, wooden sticks, breath, and voice. The space transforms into a place of grief, resistance, cleansing, and quiet presence.
At the heart of the performance lies the paradoxical relationship between memory and detachment: the dead asks the living to forget, to stop feeling, and to let go of everything that binds them together — while at the same time saying:
"I will remember you."
The performance explores:
- the physical effort of grief
- the tenderness and violence of letting go
- the body as a carrier of memory
- the impossibility of holding on to life
- the transformation of grief into movement
Rather than presenting death as tragedy, the piece approaches it as a natural dissolution of form. The stage becomes a space where memory disintegrates, rituals are questioned, and attachment gradually fades — until only breath, movement, and the present moment remain.
